What is Lymph and Why Should It Be Stimulated?
Lymph is a colorless, thick fluid and belongs to the category of connective tissues. Its primary role is to carry proteins, salts, and metabolites to the bloodstream. Typically, the human body contains approximately 2 liters of lymphatic fluid. Lymph is composed of lymphatic capillaries, vessels, and nodes, and it is found throughout the body, excluding the brain, spinal cord, bone marrow, and cartilage.
Massage. Guasha massage is effective in stimulating the lymphatic system. The essential technique is to conduct the massage following the direction of lymph flow, which means moving from bottom to top. Commence the ritual by massaging your feet and gradually progress upwards. Ensuring all movements are gentle and fluid is crucial. When performing a body massage, use a guasha tool with a wavy edge, as each side of the tool targets different areas of the body. Similarly, for facial massage, adhere to the same principle of conducting all movements from the bottom to the top, following the massage lines.
