The skincare routine order

Cosmetics work more effectively when applied in the correct sequence. Here are some recommendations to improve your beauty routine

Morning beauty routine

Morning skincare should always begin with cleansing. For dry skin, simply washing with water may be enough, while combination or oily skin may require a gel or foam cleanser. This will remove excess sebum and dust particles, prepare the skin for skincare application, and facilitate the penetration of beneficial components.

Next, you can use a toner, especially if the skin feels tight after cleansing. The next step is applying eye cream. Do not ignore this area; the skin here is thin and sensitive and requires delicate care.

The main principle of applying beauty products: start with liquid textures and then move on to thicker ones. Before applying moisturizer, you should use a serum. This product contains a high concentration of active ingredients but does not protect the skin from environmental influences. Therefore, 2–3 minutes after applying the serum, you should apply cream. Cream should be used regularly, even if you don't plan to leave the house.

To reduce puffiness and refresh the face, you can perform a light massage with a roller or gua sha over the serum or moisturizer. This will help the cosmetic product to be better absorbed.  For massaging the eye area, use mushroom-shaped massagers.

The final step in morning skincare is applying SPF. After 15 minutes, you can start applying makeup.

Nighttime skincare

The evening beauty routine should also start with cleansing, but it should be a two-step process. Next is applying serum. If you use products with hyaluronic acid, it's worth applying them to damp skin. The final step is applying cream or a night mask. If you use products with retinol or acids, wait 20-30 minutes before applying cream. In other cases, you can apply cream 2–3 minutes after serum.

To relax facial muscles and relieve tension, incorporate gua sha or roller massage into your evening beauty routine.

How much cosmetics to apply?

A common mistake in beauty routines is applying an excessive amount of products. The approximate dosages of products are as follows:

Cleansing gel - one pump of the dispenser

Serum – 1–2 drops from the dropper

Eye cream – the size of a grain of rice

Face moisturizer – the size of an almond

Sunscreen – approximately half a teaspoon
