Checklist: How to Pack a Toiletry Bag for Vacation
We'll explain how to save space in your luggage and what you definitely shouldn't leave at home.
A minimal daily beauty routine on vacation can consist of three steps: cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection. For a short period, your skin can manage without specialized cosmetics like serums, essences, and peels. Additionally, the active ingredients in these products are often sensitive to sunlight, so they won’t be necessary for a summer trip. Liquid facial cleansers, such as micellar water, can be conveniently replaced with cleansing wipes.
- Only bring tried-and-true skincare products. Vacation is not the best time for beauty experiments. Flights, climate change, and new surroundings are already stressful for your skin, so it might react unpredictably to unfamiliar products.
- Don’t forget about skin regeneration. Be sure to bring a product for skin recovery after sun exposure.
- Choose products in unbreakable packaging. Alternatively, transfer your favorite cosmetics into reusable plastic jars. This will help avoid unpleasant surprises in your suitcase.
- Solid, waterless cosmetics are a practical option for vacation. In this format, shampoos and hair conditioners are produced. Among the advantages – they can easily be taken in carry-on luggage on a plane without any issues.
- Be sure to put SOS products in your cosmetic bag. For example, an anti-inflammatory serum and a healing cream for sunburns.
- Don't forget about skincare for the eye and lip areas. Take along an eye cream and a moisturizing lip balm with SPF.
- Opt for multitasking makeup. For example, compact palettes that include blush, bronzer, and highlighter.
- Choose sheet masks. They don't take up much space, and if you have a long flight, you can bring a hydrating mask into the airplane cabin with you.
- Bring a sleep mask and stone eye patches on the plane. The mask will allow you to sleep during a long flight, and the patches will help reduce eye fatigue and puffiness.
